The FocusMe application is meant for people who want to be more productive, for people who want to get things done, but no matter how much they try, they end up browsing Facebook, playing Solitaire, or doing some other timewasting thing. FocusMe can block access to distracting websites and applications and by doing so, it will put an end to your procrastinating and time wasting.

The setup wizard that helps you install FocusMe on your Windows PC will inform you that some antivirus products such as Norton’s antivirus solutions can erroneously detect FocusMe as a virus.
The setup wizard will also inform you that FocusMe is free to use for a trial period of 15 days, will invite you to the break reminders feature, will ask you to choose between a Minimal and Advanced View Mode for the interface, and will ask you if you want FocusMe to run for all users.

As mentioned above, FocusMe features a Minimal and Advanced View Mode for its interface. You can switch from one to another from the View Menu. From the same menu you can select what elements are displayed on the interface.

Since we’re speaking about modes, I must tell you that FocusMe presents three modes in the upper left hand corner of its interface:
Block Mode – only the windows/applications that you choose will be blocked.
Focus Mode – all windows/applications will be blocked, except for the ones you choose.
Break Mode – starts a Computer Break countdown.

Profiles are available for each of these three modes. The TimeWasters profile for Block Mode for example blocks access to Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter; it also blocks access to Solitaire and Minesweeper. These profiles can be edited. You can also add/remove profiles.

FocusMe does a lot to boost your productivity. It blocks access to timewasting websites, it blocks access to timewasting applications, it displays a focus goal on the screen, it allows you to access a detailed time tracking report, it allows you to set up time limits, it reminds you to take a break – because you need to take a break from time to time, freshen up, and return to work with new strength.

You can use FocusMe for free for a trial period of 15 days.

To be productive you need to stop wasting time browsing Facebook, watching videos on YouTube, and playing games. FocusMe makes sure you don’t procrastinate, it ensures you don’t waste time by blocking access to applications and websites.

Pros

Choose between a Minimal and Advanced View Mode for the interface; go to the View Menu to switch between these modes and to select what elements are displayed on the interface. FocusMe features three modes: Block Mode, Focus Mode, Break Mode. Profiles are available for each mode. FocusMe can block access to websites and applications; FocusMe can enforce time limits. FocusMe can remind you to take a break.

Cons

Trial limitations: 15-day trial.
